Why Adding Facials Makes Financial Sense

For many cosmetologists, adding facials is a smart way to expand earning potential while also reducing burnout.

Let’s be honest, hair work can be physically demanding. Facial services are rarely taught in-depth in cosmetology school, yet professional skincare is a $178 billion global industry with steady growth driven by repeat clients and results-based care.

Unlike hair services, which often require standing for long hours and can take a physical toll over time, facials allow for more ergonomic work, predictable scheduling, and consistent rebooking every 4 to 6 weeks. There is also a meaningful difference in client expectations. Skincare clients typically understand that results are progressive, while hair clients can arrive with unrealistic expectations around cut / color, or dissatisfaction that may be outside the provider’s control.

Viewed this way, investing in advanced facial training is not about abandoning hair.  It is about adding a high-value service that complements your existing work and clientele, reduces physical strain, and can offset the cost of education while continuing to generate income for years.

Learn Facials and Advanced Skincare

The Facial School Program was created for licensed cosmetologists ready to expand their craft into the world of professional skincare. This intensive 5-week program focuses on modern facial techniques, advanced skin analysis, and hands-on experience with today’s most in-demand modalities - from LED therapy to microdermabrasion and deep pore cleansing facials.

You’ll work side-by-side with seasoned educators and industry pros to refine your understanding of skin physiology, master consultation techniques, and learn the art of creating transformative client experiences.

Each class builds on the previous material that you have learned.  For example, every practice facial you give, you will go through all the steps that you have learned so far.  This repetition under your instructors watchful eye will give you the practice you need to walk away being able to give a good facial experience and help your clients improve their skin. By the end of 5 weeks, you’ll feel confident performing full-service facials, understanding skin conditions, and integrating esthetics into your professional practice or salon environment.
